Sustainable Building Strategies
Various environmental objectives were achieved related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, improved indoor air quality and lighting. Use of durable environmental materials with minimal chemical emissions and recycled content. The “green” project specifications addressed indoor air quality criteria, construction reuse and recycling, and healthful building maintenance.
The Ridgehaven Building uses 65 percent less total energy than its nearly identical neighbor, yielding a savings of more than $70,000 in annual utility costs. This equates to $1 / sq. ft. in annual savings.
