The Permit Toolbox contains facility-specific information and resources for the most common types of permitted facilities:
- Landfills/Disposal Sites
- Transfer/Processing Stations
- Compostable Material Facilities and Operations
- In-Vessel Digestion Facilities and Operations
See the “Permit Toolbox” for drop-down links to permit regulations that apply to other types of solid waste facilities.
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery regulates many types of facilities and operations that handle, process, dispose, or otherwise manage solid waste. Solid Waste Facilities require a permit to operate. Operations do not require a permit but may still be under the jurisdiction of the Department. See the full list of facilities and operations.
