Notice of Public Workshop – SB 1215 Covered Battery-Embedded Products Emergency Regulations

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding an informal public workshop to solicit feedback from the public, the regulated community, and other interested persons regarding certain statutory requirements for the Covered Electronic Waste Recycling Program (Public Resources Code sections 42460 – 42486), as amended by Senate Bill (SB) 1215 (Newman, Chapter 370, Statutes of 2022) (“SB 1215”). The purpose of this draft regulatory language is to implement, make specific, and clarify SB 1215.  CalRecycle also intends to re-adopt select language from two prior regulations packages. For background on those rulemakings, please visit SB 1215 – Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003.
