Bay Area
Berkeley – Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup | April 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Shorebird Park Nature Center
Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to join us for the Earth Day Shoreline Cleanup. All volunteers should plan to wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the work and weather conditions of the day. Drop-In registration is welcome; pre-registration is preferred. Let’s work together to keep the Berkeley Waterfront clean!
Cupertino – Earth and Arbor Day Festival 2026 | April 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cupertino Civic Center
Cupertino’s Annual Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival is an interactive event that invites community members of all ages to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a family-friendly atmosphere. Consistently attracting thousands of attendees and dozens of partner organizations, the Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival features hands-on activities, live entertainment, and delicious food served by local food trucks.
El Cerrito – El Cerrito Earth Day Celebration 2026 | April 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The citywide annual celebration includes a morning of volunteerism and work parties followed by a Complimentary seedling giveaway. The City encourages individuals, families and groups to register their work parties in advance.
Hayward – Citywide Clean-up and Community Fair | April 25, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Weeks Park
The Annual Citywide Clean-Up and Community Fair is a litter pick-up event hosted at Weekes Park through which volunteers come together to collect litter and debris in various neighborhoods throughout Hayward. After the pick-up, community members meet back at Weekes Park, where lunch will be provided for those who register online. There also will be a Community Fair with sustainability-themed booths featuring resources and fun activities hosted by community organizations.
Martinez – John Muir Birthday–Earth Day 2026 | April 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Muir National Historic Site in Martinez
The boyhood home of naturalist John Muir, a federal historic site, will be the site of the city’s John Muir Birthday–Earth Day Celebration. There will be a silent auction, live music, exhibits and activities for kids. Admission is free!

RethinkWaste’s 15th Annual Earth Day Celebration at the Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos is a free, family-friendly event featuring guided tours of the facility, creative reuse activities, a community plant swap, and low-waste refreshments. Explore how resource recovery works in our service area and how each of us can contribute to a more sustainable community and planet through resource conservation. San Francisco – Earth Day San Francisco 2026 | April 18, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Yerba Buena Gardens
This event is a day-long, family-friendly celebration to learn more about the environment and the importance of sustainability. Featuring live performances at the Stage on the Great Lawn. Festivities include a Green Business Expo, tree planting, chalk art, ice art at the Yerba Buena Ice Skating and Bowling Center, carousel rides with Children’s Creativity Museum, giveaways and more!

Solano County – Earth Day Cleanup | April 11, 2026 & April 18, 2026, at various sites
Coordinated by the Solano County Conservation District, cleanups will take place throughout the county including all seven of its cities. Funding provided through the CalRecycle Beverage Container Recycling City/County Payment Program.
Vallejo – Vallejo’s Earth Day Festival 2026 | April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Downtown Vallejo
A local, environmentally friendly, family-oriented festival to educate and inspire students, parents, and businesses to reduce or eliminate the use of plastics for the sake of humanity and planetary health. The goal of EARTH DAY around the globe is to achieve a 60% reduction in the production of plastics by 2040, with the ultimate goal of building a plastic-free future for generations to come.
Watsonville – Earth Day Celebration 2026 | April 15, 2026, to April 22, 2026, at various locations and times
Earth Week 2026 will be a celebration of the earth and a place to inspire our community to preserve its health and well-being for our children and future generations. Attendees can participate in games and activities relating to climate action and climate solutions. This event is family-friendly and free of charge.
Windsor – Earth Day 2026 | April 19, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Town Green
Call for Volunteers! In honor of Earth Day 2026, the Town of Windsor Storm Water Quality Program is organizing a community trash cleanup event. All participants will receive a free gift and snacks.

Monterey County – 15th Annual Seaside Earthday Celebration | Sunday, April 19, 2026, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Laguna Grande Regional Park – Lakeside
Join Sustainable Seaside, the City of Seaside, and a host of community partners in celebrating Seaside’s 15th Annual Earth Day event! The City of Beverly Hills will be celebrating the 23nd Annual Earth Day event at Farmer’s market on Sunday, April 19th. This year’s theme is “Our power, Our planet.”
The Public Works department will have a booth with information about the City’s sustainability efforts, vendor and organizations booths, free compost giveaway, and free shredding services for the community take part of on that day.
Calabasas – Earth Day Celebration/Green Expo | April 18, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Las Virgenes Creek site
Exhibitors from all over Los Angeles County and Ventura County will be participating in the event to help residents learn more about local programs and initiatives. Calabasas Earth Day/Green Expo was created to be a day of education, celebration, and action for the natural world in which we live.

Los Angeles – Earth Day LA 2026 | April 18,2026 Pan Pacific Park
City of Los Angeles Sanitation and Environment invites you to the 10th anniversary event for a day of sun, sustainability, and community. The event will include photo ops with LA San’s big trucks, free food while supplies last, live music, activities, and prizes. Tickets are free, but require RSVP.
Los Angeles County – Earth Day Community Festival | April 11, 2026
We’ll have our famous Paint-a-Pot and Plant-a-Seed booths. Guests get to decorate a terra cotta pot with paints and once its dry, you move on to the plant poppy seeds (the California State Flower) in it. You get to take the pot home to decorate your home. We’ll also have magic shows and face painters at the Kids Zone.

Noyo Food Forest’s 17th Annual Earth Day Festival will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 12 to 5 p.m. at The Learning Garden on the Fort Bragg High School campus at 300 Dana Street. This beloved event is a free, family-friendly community celebration and a vital fundraiser supporting our programs and mission. Last year, the Earth Day Festival welcomed over 1,200 attendees, and we anticipate an even greater turnout in 2026.
Mount Shasta – Mt. Shasta Earth Day Festival 2026 | May 4, 2026, at Mt. Shasta City Park
Join us for a full day of free activities, presentations, and more on Sunday May 4th. Exhibitors, crafts, kid-friendly activities, a water blessing ceremony, food, and more will be held on the grounds of the Mt. Shasta City Park while the presentations, films, and a nature art gallery will be indoors.
Redding – Earth Day Festival | April 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Caldwell Park
Celebrate Earth Day 2026 with a day of music, learning, and community connection at Caldwell Park in Redding. Visitors can bring a blanket, wander through the booths, or settle in to enjoy the performances in the open air. A secure bike corral will be available so people can arrive by bicycle and park safely.

Each year, the festival highlights practical ways our community can care for the land, support local initiatives, and build a more resilient future together.
San Diego – San Diego Earth Fest | April 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Balboa Park
San Diego EarthFest is a FREE Earth Day celebration featuring over 100 sustainable food, craft and service vendors as well as environmental and conservation groups. Enjoy a full day of entertainment with music, speakers and panel discussions plus yoga and wellness classes and activities for kids. This event is held in Balboa Park on the expansive lawn located at Park Boulevard and Presidents Way. San Diego EarthFest is family-friendly and dog-friendly with free parking available. This is a zero-waste event. A portion of profits will be donated to local non-profit groups. This is a rain or shine event.
San Diego – 34th Annual Multi-Cultural Earth Day | April 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Word Beat Center

Alta Vista Botanical Gardens invites you to join us for a free event for the community to celebrate the Earth with fun and informative activities for the whole family. Food will be available for purchase courtesy of Amigos de Vista Lions. There will be a plant sale and garden advice from our very own Growgetters. Our garden shop will be open with crafts and snacks, and there will be vendor booths!

Our local Earth Day celebration is one of the largest environmental education events in the area. The event provides local residents and visitors an opportunity to learn about the various environmental issues that affect South Lake Tahoe. This is a free, family friendly event open to organizations and vendors that engage the community in a constructive and positive manner. It will be held at Lake Tahoe Community College, 1 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, 96150.
Tahoe/Truckee – Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival 2026 | April 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Village of Palisades Tahoe
This free, environmental-education event is a community tradition that takes place in The Village at Palisades Tahoe, 1750 Village East Road, Olympic Valley, 96146. The largest Earth Day celebration in the region, it gives kids and adults the opportunity to learn about recycling, composting, alternative energy, and sustainability through hands-on activities the whole family can enjoy. The goal is to connect the community with the people and resources found in the region that foster innovation, initiate change, and implement an equitable partnership for a green planet.
