Road to Recovery: Camp Fire Tree Removal Progress Update

The State of California continues to aid Butte County in its recovery from the Camp Fire. Wildfire residential debris recovery ended in November of 2019. California is now focused on removing over 90,000 trees at risk of falling on public property and public rights of way.

Through April 17, 2021, the Camp Fire Hazard Tree Removal program has cleared trees from 3,876 out of the 6,275 properties with eligible trees.  Of the 92,971 trees in Butte County that have been identified as dead or dying, 54,463 trees have been felled.
