California Department of General Services (DGS)
California Green Roads Program
The Green Roads project is a collaborative effort designed by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to create sustainable California roads and highways using recycled-content materials with an emphasis on two material types: rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) and tire-derived aggregate (TDA).
At its September 2009 meeting, Board Members approved funding for an outreach and education campaign (refer to agenda item #9) to promote the use of tire-derived products. The scope of work (SOW) for this effort contains strategies related to the use of recycled tires for further development of the "Green Roads" campaign.
